Speak like music: Presentation tips. My podcast interview on “Time To Shine”

Danja

Present better with 6 effective inspirations from the world of music

On November 28, 2020, I had the pleasure of being interviewed for the "Time to Shine" podcast. Many international speakers share fantastic presentation tips there, and this time I had the honor of being interviewed by Oscar Santolalla. Since he was in Finland and I was in Austria, we conducted the interview via Skype. It was a very interesting experience for me because we could only hear each other and not see each other.

My message, which I discuss in the podcast, is: SPEAK LIKE MUSIC! This means not delivering boring presentations, but rather using more emotion and energy in your speeches and presentations and conveying that energy to the audience. That's precisely what music does.

Intrigued? If you want to find out exactly how to deliver a presentation as moving and effective as music, then listen to the podcast now at:

Here's a brief overview of the podcast's topic:
What is Speak Like Music?

A good song conveys emotions and feelings and is easy to remember. When you speak like music, you create emotions that make your presentation and yourself memorable. A great example of a speaker who speaks like music is Oprah Winfrey.

Six elements to speak like music:

1. Make it a creative start: The first few minutes of your speech are the most important for your audience. Start as captivatingly as possible.

2. Have a hook: This is a memorable part that will stick in your audience's memory. It could be your own signature song, your message, or even an image or video.

3. Tell a story: Take your audience on an emotional journey through your thoughts. Use metaphors and words that appeal to the senses.

4. Melody: Don't be boring, create a melody with your voice. Use both your vocal melody and pauses to reach and engage your audience.

5. Keep the energy high in the room: Interact and create a dialogue with your audience.

6. Act like a star on stage:
It's time to shine! Impress! Have great energy and make eye contact. Perform at the highest level on both the real and virtual stage!

My favorite quote perfectly sums up my message:

“People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel” — Maya Angelou

“People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou
